| This photo caught Claude at "home." Yes, you might think it looks like the cab of a truck and you're right. Claude spends more time in his truck than he does at home. Claude has driven well over a million miles and is fast approaching two million miles. Claude has driven all those miles WITHOUT AN ACCIDENT.
Claude has been with Southwest Auto Company since May 11, 1976. Exactly one month before his brother, Junior, started. That's over 25 years for each of them. He has done everything from completely rearranging the yard to building the parts storage racks in our warehouses to painting the buildings and on and on and on. When there is a major project, Claude is the one we rely on to get the job done. He gives a whole new meaning to the term, "a hard worker." I attended a convention many years ago and the discussions covered about every aspect of the industry. The subject of employees came up and everyone seemed to have a sob story about how hard it was to get and keep good employees. I stated that I had a full time job just keeping one employee working. Of course, the response was "Yeah, I know what you mean." It dawned on me that they assumed the obvious, so I wanted to clarify my statement. "No, you miss understood me, it's a full time job coming up with work to be done because if this employee ran out of work, he became sort'a mad about it." Claude once threatened to go home if I didn't have something for him to do right that minute. Claude has made a major contribution to Southwest and it's success. Claude is always there with a smile, ready for the next job.
