| Penny Cunningham arrived at Southwest on August 9, 1993. I'm not sure what I mean by arrived. Penny responded to an ad we ran in the newspaper. Our bookkeeper of twenty years was going to retire and we needed to have someone trained before she left.
Obviously, you interview a potential replacement. Actually, she didn't stop talking long enough for us to ask her anything. But, if you know Penny, by the time the "interview" was over, we knew everything about her. We even knew a few things we didn't want to know. OK, we hired her (after all, she is cute). Also, she is a very capable individual and soon had the bookkeeping under control. One problem though, she just could not get along with Junior and he was not particularly fond of her. You could say there was no love lost between them. Well, as they say, time heals all wounds. Would you believe, an "office romance" ensued. Penny and Junior were married October 24, 1997. Never in a million years well, I won't go there. Everything has worked out just fine. Penny and Junior now own the company and the future looks very good. With our capable staff, you will enjoy your relationship with Southwest Auto Company.
